1963 Fender Stratocaster, dakota red. Made in USA, serial number 97558. This guitar has been refinished about 30 years ago. It looks like it originally was shoreline gold, ouch. With a neck date of March '63, the pickguard can't be original to the guitar, as the extra hole underneath it shows, but it is a real 1963-1964 celluloid 'green guard'. The guitar once had different tuners installed and was subsequently restored with a wooden insert underneath the tuners and around the tuner bushings. Vintage correct replica tuners are now mounted. A second string tree was removed and the hole filled and oversprayed. The pickups and pots (15th week of '63) are all correct, as is the bridge assembly. Vintage 5-way switch. Also, there might a pickguard screw or two not original to the guitar, but it's a wonderfully sounding player's pre-CBS Strat. Comes with the original white tolex Fender hardshell case. Weighs 3.4kg.
