1957 Fender Bassman, tweed. Made in USA, serial number BM01439.

The tube chart date code reads GD (April '57) and still denotes the circuit as a 5E6, even though the 5E6A circuit was in use for quite a while by then.

It looks like the amp received one major overhaul every decade starting with a choke from '75, most filter caps from the mid 1980s and two Mojotone speakers from the 1990s. Still retains one original speaker with a 220726 date (one extra speaker with the same date code in need of a recone is included as well), either making it one of the very last before Fender switched to the 5F6 circuit or someone reinstalled a pair of vintage correct '57 Jensen P10R speakers long before we got this. Also features one new Jensen P10R-F speaker.

The tweed and grill cloth have a great look, but they were replaced professionally, albeit a long time ago as well. All pots and many screws are replacements from various decades, caps and resistors were replaced whenever needed and two small breaks in the cabinet wood were also just professionally repaired.

The good stuff: original power and output transformers.

Not a museum piece by any means, but if you want a great sounding and gig friendly tweed Bassman, this is the one.
